What if I don’t use Account or Matter numbers in Advologix & NetDocuments?

In the event that your workspaces are set up to utilize other fields you can edit the formulas for the Matter's NDClient, ND Client Description, ND Matter Description and ND Matter fields. You will need to export your workspace configuration from NetDocuments to understand how it is configured and edit the Advologix field formulas.

NetDocuments Workspace Configuration

Getting Your NetDocuments Workspace Configuration

Log into NetDocuments. You must be a NetDocuments administrator to carry out this step. From the Home Page, click Admin in the top right or the page.

Profile Attributes

Click on Define Profile Attributes. Select Matter and click Download Table.

Click on Define Profile Attributes. Select Matter and select the Download Table button.  You will be prompted to save/open a CSV file.

Open the File

Open this file with your spreadsheet program.

Here you will see where your Client and Matter field values are stored in NetDocuments. You must have corresponding fields in Advologix where you store these values.

Setup the NetDocuments Fields

Set up your NDClient, ND Client Description,  ND Matter Description and NDMatter fields in Advologix to read from other Advologix fields

Click on Setup and the top of the Advologix application page. Go to Application Setup > Create > Objects and click on Matter.

Go to Custom Fields And Relationships

Edit each of these fields, as required to read from the fields where you store the values in your NetDocuments Matter Profile table.

If you are setting up a new developer system or installing to an existing Salesforce CRM system, you will need to create these fields.

To edit a formula field, click edit for each field as required. Scroll to the Formula Options section and choose the field that holds the matching value to your NetDocuments Matter Profile. To do this, click on the Advanced Formula tab and click Insert Field. Here you can choose the field from the Matter, related Contact, related Account or other related items to the matter.

When done click Save. Repeat for each “ND” field you want to change from your NetDocuments Matter Profile table.
