Billing Fundamentals

AdvologixPM basic billing is very good at providing the means to collect day-to-day billing activities for most law firms.

The Foundational Tenets of AdvologixPM billing are as follows:

  1. Time and Expense Billing entries are invoiced by Matter.
  2. All Matters are assigned to an Account (client) with balances available at the Matter and Account levels.
  3. Fee and time entries are by Timekeeper.
    • Timekeepers can be internal staff or outside parties.
  4. Default rates for time billing can be set at the Account, Matter, and Timekeeper level.
  5. Billing items may be placed on Hold, Not Billed or billed at No Charge.
  6. AdvologixPM supports Trust, Retainer and Collections balances for any Matter.
  7. Payments and Write-offs can be received on behalf of an outstanding Invoice.
  8. Credits can be applied for future use (aside from Trust or Retainer) in the Matter’s cash balance.
  9. All billing related balances are real time and can be viewed for a Matter or for an Account from their respective displays.
