You can customize the page layouts for record detail and edit pages. Page layouts control the layout and organization of buttons, fields, s-controls, Visualforce, custom links, and related lists. They also help determine which fields are visible, read only, and required. Page layouts can include s-controls and Visualforce pages that are rendered within a field section when the page displays.
Access Page Layouts for Standard Objects
- Select Your Name | Setup | Customize.
- Choose the object.
- Do one of the following:
- In Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Edition organizations, choose the Page Layouts link and click Edit next to the page layout you want to customize. Note
- In all other editions, choose the Page Layout link.
Access Page Layouts for Custom Objects
- Select Your Name | Setup | Create | Objects.
- Choose the object.
- Scroll to the Page Layouts section.
- Click Edit next to the page layout you want to customize.
Alternatively, when you are on a detail page, click the Edit Layout link in the upper right corner to quickly customize the page layout.
