Fields are used to track specific information. For instance, for each matter, there are different fields for information related to them. So a contact’s name would be one field, the type of a matter would be another field, and so on.
A custom field is one you create specifically for your company's AdvologixPM. That means you can create a field to track a matters’s 'county' where the case is held, how a contact prefers to be contacted, or any other specific information you deem necessary. With custom fields, you can quickly track any information you need to run your business and track your contacts or matters, etc.
