Introduction to Billing

AdvologixPM basic billing requires a few decisions to be made before you start getting too far along with entering the billing information.  

Will your organization be using Advologix Basic Billing?

If your organization will not be using Advologix Billing, we've made sure to not let it get in your way. In fact, you won't even notice anything related to billing other than a checkbox called "Add Billing" which you will simply ignore (or remove from your forms).

On the other hand feel free to use the Billing system simply to track time or manage productivity.

How will your firm manage Billing Rates?

There are three places to set default rates in Advologix. When a default rate is applied the following precedence is invoked:

1. Matter

if no matter rate...

2. Account

if no account rate ...

3. Timekeeper

If your firm strictly uses Timekeeper rates; simply ensure each Timekeeper has a default rate. Likewise for Accounts and Matters. Any combination may be used but it is suggested that each firm follow a standard and stay with it.

NOTE: Rates do not have to be defaulted, manual override or the global Rate Table can be used.

Will you start with existing balances?

If yes, make sure to use the "Existing Balances"  import tool provided in AdvologixPM Setup.
